Can you operate a food cart while working full-time?
Updated
Plan who runs the outlet, checks cash and stock, and deals with problems while you are at work.
Name the person in charge
Write down who opens, serves, orders supplies and closes. Include who covers absences. A relative or hired manager still needs clear responsibilities and training.
Set up daily reporting
Agree on a simple report for sales, cash, expenses, stock and issues. Decide how you will compare the report with receipts and counts.
Plan your availability
Identify when you can visit, who can make urgent decisions and what requires your approval. Ask about the concept’s owner-involvement requirements rather than assuming it is passive income.
Test the arrangement
Before committing, discuss the workload with the person who will be on site. Check that the budget includes staffing and that the plan still works during leave or turnover.
Planning guide. Confirm current concept requirements and quotations before committing.
